All KIYOMA objects are made from solid natural stone - primarily marble. Stone is sourced from geological regions across the world, including Italy, Turkey, Spain, China, and India. Each region offers distinct structures, tones, and formations shaped over millions of years. We do not use composite, reconstituted, or synthetic materials.
Yes. Every KIYOMA object arrives in The Vault, a rigid box with a deep charcoal matte finish and minimal surface graphics. Inside, a vellum overlay carries the message: "A fragment of the earth, refined for your home." The presentation is clean and considered. No additional gift wrapping is needed.
Each KIYOMA object is photographed to accurately represent its form, proportion, and stone colourway. Because every piece is cut from a unique section of natural stone, minor variations in veining and tone are possible. These variations are inherent to the material and part of what makes each object its own.
KIYOMA objects are made from solid natural stone, which means they carry real, substantial weight. This is a core part of their purpose - the mass is what allows them to anchor a surface and give a space its sense of gravity and completion. Exact weights vary by piece and are listed on each product page.
Both. Pieces like the IWA Bowl and CORE Catch-all are designed for daily use. Others, such as the YAMA Pedestal Plinth and MONO Sculpture, serve a spatial and compositional role. All KIYOMA objects are made to be placed once and remain part of the home over time - not stored away.
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, bleach, or abrasive materials, as these can affect the stone surface over time. For marble and porous stones, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to liquids. Natural stone will develop a patina with age - this is part of the material's honest character.
No. Each KIYOMA piece arrives ready to place. There is no assembly, finishing, or treatment required. Take it out, put it down, leave it there.
Due to the weight of solid natural stone, we recommend placing KIYOMA objects on surfaces that can support them. Most KIYOMA pieces come with small rubber feet pre-applied to the base, which protect delicate surfaces from scratches and prevent the object from sliding. For pieces without them, adhesive felt pads can be applied separately.
