Our Story

Why we started KIYOMA

Why we started KIYOMA

Most objects are designed to be noticed. We wanted to make something different.

KIYOMA started from a simple observation: homes were full of things, yet rarely felt finished. Shelves were crowded, surfaces were busy, and rooms still lacked a sense of resolution. The problem was not a lack of objects. It was a lack of the right ones.

We started KIYOMA to offer a different kind of object. One that does not compete for attention, but quietly holds a space together. One that you place once and never feel the need to replace.

The material

The material

We work exclusively with natural stone. Marble, travertine, and other formations sourced from geological regions across the world, including Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Iran, and Afghanistan.

We chose stone because it cannot be faked. Its weight, texture, and variation are entirely its own. Every surface tells the story of the place it came from and the millions of years it took to form.

This is not a material trend. Stone has been used to anchor spaces for thousands of years. We see no reason to look elsewhere.

Designed to stay

Designed to stay

Every KIYOMA object is designed with one purpose: to finish a space and remain part of it over time.

We do not follow seasonal trends or release products on a schedule. The Global Archive grows slowly and deliberately, one object at a time. Each piece earns its place by doing something specific — anchoring a surface, providing weight, or giving a room its sense of completion.

We believe the best objects are the ones you stop thinking about. They are simply there, doing their job, day after day.

That is what we make.
